Add Measures

There are several ways to add measures.

• In Layout mode, select the Measure tool. Press the Add Measure button in the measure sub-tools. The measure is added at the end. If a measure is selected when you click Add Measure, the new measure is inserted immediately after the selected one.

• In Layout mode with the Measure tool, or in Write mode with the Selection tool, click any measure. Click an Insert button at either end of the Measure Tool Palette that appears. Click "Insert Left" to insert to the left of the selected measure, or "Insert Right" to insert to the right.

• You can also add measures by adding systems in Layout mode. (See Add Systems.)

Delete Measures

There are several ways to delete measures.

• In Layout mode, select the Measure tool. Press the Delete Measure button in the measure sub-tools. The last measure is deleted. If a measure is selected when you click Delete Measure, the selected measure is deleted.

• In Layout mode with the Measure tool, or in Write mode with the Selection tool, click any measure. Click Delete Measure from the Measure Tool Palette that appears.

• You can also delete measures by deleting systems in Layout mode. (See Delete Systems.)

Pickup / Incomplete Measures

1. In Layout mode with the Measure tool, or in Write mode with the Selection tool, right-click any measure and open the Measure Panel from the measure property context menu.

2. In the Measure Panel, change "Actual Time Signature" under the measure duration section.

3. For pickups and similar cases that should not count toward the measure number, uncheck "Include in Measure Count."

4. Finally, press the Change button.
